The WGRA was formed in 2003 and had worked with Limerick City Council to develop plans for the regeneration of their small estate, which were shelved with the advent of the Regeneration Agencies.

The BWRA was formed in 2010 following the collapse of the Agency-established residents forum. The vast majority of residents in the designated regeneration area have joined the BWRA, which actively campaigns for their rights to be upheld.

Both groups work closely together and both a members of Our Lady of Lourdes Umbrella Group.
